Employee Resource Group

Base Salary: NCCI offers a competitive salary aimed at providing you with financial stability with the potential for growth based on your performance and the company’s success.

Annual Incentive Bonus Pay: We offer a generous annual performance-based incentive compensation plan that rewards individual and company achievements and aligns your individual efforts with both short-term and long-term company goals. We maintain a strong pay-for-performance culture, where exceptional performance is recognized and rewarded.

We also offer additional bonuses, such as a referral bonus, or monetary awards for job performance to recognize and reward contributions beyond your primary role.

Benefits: We also offer comprehensive health and welfare coverage, including medical, life, and disability insurance, along with other programs to support your overall well-being.

Retirement Plan: At NCCI, we’re dedicated to helping you plan for a secure retirement. Our 401(k) Savings Plan offers valuable benefits, including a generous company match and supplemental contributions, giving you the flexibility to build a bright future for you and your family. Here’s how it works:

  • Automatic Enrollment: You’ll be automatically enrolled at a 5% pre-tax contribution rate when you start, with the ability to adjust your contributions at any time.
  • Company Match: We match dollar-for-dollar on the first 6% of your eligible earnings, with company contributions vesting after two years.
  • Quarterly Supplemental Contribution: In addition to the match, we offer a discretionary supplemental contribution of 6% of your eligible earnings each quarter regardless of whether you contribute or not.
  • Investment Flexibility: Our 401(k) plan includes a wide range of attractive, well-diversified investment options along with a brokerage account for more personal control. You’ll also have access to advice sessions and Morningstar-guided investment tools.
  • Contribution Options: You can contribute to traditional tax-deferred savings or choose Roth post-tax accounts, including an option for Roth in-plan conversions.

Our 401(k) plan is designed to help you build a secure retirement with both stability and opportunity.

Income Replacement Options

Our Income Replacement programs provide financial support through life insurance protection and disability coverage, helping you maintain stability in case of illness, injury, or other unforeseen events.

Disability

NCCI offers disability programs that provide a source of income if you are medically unable to work. Benefits from these plans are coordinated with any government benefits that you may receive, such as state family care benefits, state disability benefits, workers compensation, and Social Security benefits.

Because NCCI pays the full cost of these coverages, you are automatically enrolled in these plans. Short-Term Disability can replace 70% of base pay of your lost income for up to 26 weeks and Long-Term Disability for disabling illnesses or injuries that last longer can replace 60% of base pay and target Incentive Bonus Pay of your lost income until you recover or become eligible for Social Security Disability.

Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance

NCCI provides you with a generous employee term life insurance. This coverage provides a benefit equal to your annual benefits salary, up to a maximum benefit of $700,000. Your annual benefits salary is calculated each October 1 for benefits beginning the following January 1 and includes not just your annual base pay but also the value of your annual incentive compensation award calculated at target. Benefits reduce at age 65. In addition, NCCI automatically enrolls you and pays for your Basic AD&D Insurance coverage in the amount of two times your annual benefits salary, up to a maximum benefit of $700,000.

Voluntary Employee Life and AD&D

As an NCCI employee, you can choose to purchase voluntary term life insurance and voluntary AD&D coverage on a post-tax basis. You can get life insurance coverage of up to four times your annual benefits salary (max $1.5 million) and AD&D coverage of up to four times your annual benefits salary (max $1 million). Coverage may reduce at age 65. If you enroll in employee life insurance, you can also purchase coverage for your spouse and/or children.

Voluntary Permanent Life Insurance

You have the option to purchase permanent universal life insurance. Unlike term insurance, this coverage does not expire, and you can maintain the coverage even after you are no longer at NCCI, as long as you continue to pay the premiums.

Leave of Absence Programs

At NCCI, we understand that life’s most significant moments—whether it’s the joy of welcoming a new child or navigating the challenges of caring for yourself or a loved one—deserve the utmost support. Our comprehensive leave program provides you with the flexibility and care you need. In addition to maternity and paternity leave, we offer up to four weeks of fully paid Family Time-Off to bond with your child or care for a sick family member. We also recognize that special circumstances may arise, so we offer unpaid personal leave and unpaid extended medical leave to ensure you're supported through life’s highs and lows.

Adoption Assistance

Our Adoption Assistance Program is designed to support you during your adoption journey. We offer up to $3,000 in reimbursement for adoption-related expenses and up to $4,000 for the adoption of a special needs child. In addition, employees may be eligible for up to four weeks of Paid Family Time-Off to help foster a bond with the child after the adoption is finalized. We’re here to help make this special time as seamless and rewarding as possible.

At NCCI, we prioritize your health and strive to provide you with the support you need to stay healthy, with comprehensive medical, wellness, and preventive care options to ensure you and your family thrive.

Medical

To support you and your family’s health, we offer a variety of medical plans tailored to fit your needs and budget. Choose from:

  • PPO Plans—PPO plans offer more flexibility in choosing healthcare providers with lower out-of-pocket costs for services but higher premiums. We offer:
    • $750 Deductible Plan
    • $1,250 Deductible Plan
  • Consumer-Driven Health Plans (CDHPs)—these plans have higher deductibles but lower premiums, offering the opportunity to save in a Health Savings Account (HSA) for medical expenses as follows:
    • $2000 High Deductible Plan with Health Savings Account (HSA)
    • $3,300 High Deductible Plan with Health Savings Account ((HSA)

Choosing the right plan is a personal decision based on your healthcare needs, how often you seek care, and your budget.

Dental

We offer three dental coverage options to meet your needs:

  • PPO Premier Plan
  • PPO Standard Plan (does not cover orthodontia)
  • Dental HMO - Dental Care Access Plus Network Plan

All plans cover preventive, basic, and major restorative services. The Dental HMO plan requires you to use network dentists, and services from out-of-network providers are not covered. For all plans, visiting an in-network dentist will lower your out-of-pocket costs.

Vision

Our vision plans offer full coverage for essential eye care services. You can choose between two options:

  • Enhanced Plan
  • Standard Plan

Both plans cover routine eye exams, glasses, and contact lenses, ensuring that you have access to the care you need to maintain your eye health. Choose the plan that best fits your needs and lifestyle.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)

At NCCI, we offer a variety of Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) to help you save money and reduce your taxable income. These accounts allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible expenses, giving you more financial flexibility. With our FSA options, you can make the most of your paycheck and take advantage of tax savings for a variety of needs.

  • Healthcare FSA: Save on healthcare costs by using pre-tax dollars for eligible medical, dental, and vision expenses.
  • Dependent Care FSA: Contribute up to $5,000 per year to cover qualified dependent care expenses, such as childcare or elder care.
  • Transportation FSA: Lower your commuting costs by using pre-tax dollars for transit passes, parking, and other eligible transportation expenses.

These accounts are easy to manage and offer great ways to make your dollars go further.

Healthcare Savings Accounts (HSA)

At NCCI, we offer a Healthcare Savings Account (HSA) to help you save for current or future healthcare expenses. An HSA is a pre-tax account you can use for medical, prescription, dental, and vision costs. The best part? We contribute “seed money” to your HSA—no matter whether you make your own contributions or not. To participate, you'll need to enroll in one of the high deductible Consumer-Driven Health Plans (CDHPs).

Voluntary Supplemental Health Insurance

Our Voluntary Supplemental Health Insurance provides additional coverage to help you manage unexpected medical expenses not covered by your primary insurance. These optional plans give you the flexibility to customize your coverage based on your needs, offering financial support for things like critical illness, accidents, and hospital stays. With these plans, you can have added peace of mind knowing you’re better protected against unforeseen health costs.

  • Accident Insurance: Accident insurance offers financial protection for accidental injuries and out-of-pocket medical expenses.
  • Critical Illness Insurance: Critical illness coverage can ease the financial impact of a serious illness—such as cancer or a heart attack—with a lump-sum benefit to spend however you see fit.
  • Hospital Indemnity Insurance: This benefit pays predetermined amounts for covered hospital confinements, with partial benefits for well-baby newborn hospitalization, observation units, and admissions due to substance abuse or mental disorders.

Employee Well-Being at NCCI

At NCCI, we are dedicated to supporting the overall well-being of our employees—physically, mentally, and financially. We understand that achieving total wellness involves balancing all aspects of life, and we’re here to help you live your best life. That is why we offer generous time off to help you recharge and prioritize what matters most.

Our commitment to employee wellness goes beyond just that. We offer a variety of resources and programs designed to support a healthy, happy, and balanced lifestyle. Whether you’re looking to stay active, manage stress, or improve financial wellness, our goal is to provide something for everyone. While offerings may vary by location, we aim to create a workplace where you can thrive, feel supported, and enjoy a fulfilling personal and professional life.

Paid Time Off

At NCCI, we believe in giving our employees the flexibility to balance their work and personal lives. That’s why we provide all regular employees with an annual Paid Time Off (PTO) bank, offering a flexible approach to cover a wide range of personal needs. Whether it’s for vacation, illness (yours or a family member’s), disability waiting periods, school events for your children, celebrating holidays beyond our designated company holidays, or any other personal time, we’ve got you covered. You can carry over up to 40 PTO hours each year, unless otherwise required by state or local law. New hires start with a minimum of 160 hours of PTO, with time prorated based on date of hire, ensuring you can take the time you need from day one.

PTO Buy Program

We offer you the opportunity to purchase up to one additional week (five days) of PTO each calendar year through our PTO Buy program. The cost for these extra days is deducted from your biweekly paycheck on a pre-tax basis. PTO Buy days can only be used after you’ve used up your regular PTO. While PTO Buy days cannot be carried over, if you’re unable to use them, any remaining balance will be paid back to you automatically at the end of the year. This program provides extra flexibility to help you make the most of your time off.

Company-Paid Holidays

At NCCI, we offer a generous holiday schedule to ensure you have time to relax and recharge. Our company recognizes the following fixed holidays each year: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Day After Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Additionally, you will receive one floating holiday that can be used to celebrate specific events. We believe in supporting a healthy work-life balance, and these paid holidays are a part of our commitment to your well-being.

Employee Assistance Program

Living a productive and fulfilling life requires a healthy mind and a healthy body. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offered through a confidential, third-party administrator is available for you and your family members should you need assistance with managing the daily stresses of work, home, and family. The EAP can assist with health and wellness topics such as stress; alcohol and drug dependencies; adjusting to change; child and elder care; grief; family or parenting issues; marital or relationship issues; self-improvement; pre- and postnatal concerns; work/life balance; and much more. The EAP provides up to eight free sessions per issue and helps with referrals, if necessary. This program is available to you at no cost. It is fully paid for by NCCI.

Professional Development

NCCI provides professional development resources such as LinkedIn Learning, Blue Ocean Brain, and university discount partnerships as well as other curated courses to assist with technical, business, and interpersonal skills building as well as leadership development and professional designations to support your growth and development.

Tuition Reimbursement

This program provides some financial support to employees who choose to develop their knowledge, skills, and education through an accredited college or university.

To be eligible, you must be a regular full-time employee with a minimum of six months of continuous service prior to application to the program. Reimbursable costs are as defined in the Internal Revenue tax code, Section 127, which can vary from time to time.

Professional Certifications and Designations

NCCI supports employees in the attainment of professional certifications and designations that will maintain or improve the skills needed in their current positions with manager approval. Examples are: CPCU, PMP, CPA, ACAS, and FCAS.

Personal Development

NCCI offers personal development in several ways, using tools and programs such as Insights Discovery, InsideOut Coaching, and NCCI Toastmasters.

Auto & Home Insurance

Purchasing auto and home insurance could provide you with savings of up to 15%. This coverage gives you access to a variety of personal insurance policies, including home, landlord’s rental dwelling, condo, mobile home, renters, recreational vehicle, boat, and personal excess liability.

Identity Theft

With this benefit, your identity will be actively monitored to detect fraud at its earliest stages. As part of this service, you will receive an annual credit report, monthly credit scores, and continuous monitoring of your TransUnion credit file. This proactive approach helps safeguard your personal information and alerts you to any suspicious activity, giving you peace of mind and the tools to protect your financial well-being.

Long-Term Care

Long-Term Care provides benefits if you require nursing and custodial care, which means that you need help with daily activities such as dressing and eating. These services are not typically covered by health plans. If you enroll during your first 30 days of employment, you do not need to provide evidence of insurability. You have the option of choosing between two plan levels, depending on your needs. The cost of this benefit is based on your age and the type of plan you choose. You pay the full cost of this coverage on an after-tax basis.

Legal Care

Our Legal Assistance Plan provides you, your spouse, and dependents with access to a nationwide network of 18,000 experienced attorneys, offering support for a variety of common legal services. Whether it's will preparation, estate planning, family law, or other legal matters, this plan gives you the peace of mind of knowing you have reliable legal help when you need it. With this benefit, you can get expert advice and assistance, making it easier to navigate everyday legal challenges without the added stress or high costs.

Aptia365 HUB

The Aptia365 HUB is a voluntary benefit that offers you access to personal health advocacy services, price comparison tools, physician performance ratings, expert medical opinions, and much more through a vetted network and resources.

Pet Insurance

For pet owners, the cost of providing unexpected veterinary care if medical issues arise could add up to hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Our Pet Insurance comes with a network of providers and is a cost-effective way to protect you from the risk of these expenses and provides medical care for your pet with peace of mind. There are several policy options, and premiums vary as each policy is individually underwritten.

Holiday Savings Program

Our Holiday Savings Program is an exclusive benefit designed to help you plan and manage the expenses of the holiday season for yourself or your family. Through this program, you can elect a set dollar amount to be deducted from your biweekly paycheck on an after-tax basis from now until the end of October. The total amount saved will then be disbursed to you on the first pay date in November, just in time for the holiday season. This is a convenient way to save up and ensure you’re financially prepared for the holidays.

We understand the importance of balancing work and family, which is why we offer an on-site day care center managed by the YMCA. This convenient service is available to employees with children ages four and younger, providing a nurturing environment for your little ones while you’re at work.

NCCI Cares

Our commitment to supporting organizations that make a positive impact where we live and work is long-standing and reflects our ideals. Our charitable programs reinforce our company’s commitment to the community, foster pride in our employees, and encourage involvement.

Volunteer Time Off (VTO) - Employees may volunteer up to 40 hours per year and receive an additional 8 hours to volunteer during a companywide charitable event. VTO hours for new hires are prorated based on the quarter they are hired. Volunteer activities that are eligible for this program must provide a direct benefit to the entire community and not be exclusively based on affiliation or membership.

Matching Gifts - NCCI will match up to $1,000 per person per year to qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. Only funds personally donated by an individual employee will be eligible for this program. The matching request must be for $5 or more and must be made in the same calendar year the donation was made.

Q25 Club

NCCI proudly recognizes employees with 25 or more years of service at NCCI by inducting them in the Quarter Century Club. These employees retain membership throughout employment with NCCI. An annual celebration is held to honor new members. The location of the meeting is typically in the South Florida region at NCCI Headquarters. All members and new honorees are invited to attend the annual celebration.

In 2023, 29 employees were inducted to join 170 existing members.

The Flex@NCCI program provides employees with options in designing a work schedule and setting that differs from “traditional” hours of work and/or location. This program integrates the existing options centered around flexibility as to when we work (for example, alternate, and part-time work schedules) with a work model focused on flexibility as to where we work.

Generally, NCCI employees will have the flexibility, working with their manager, to determine their own optimal blend of working at home and working in the office. However, some roles or teams will be required to spend more time in the NCCI building because of the type of work to be performed. Additionally, there will be times when a team will need or want to be together in person to optimize collaboration.

Depending on the needs of the business and the requirements of the position, an employee can work as a:

  • Virtual employee—someone who works from home 100% of the time and generally lives outside of a commutable distance from NCCI’s headquarters.
  • Hybrid employee—someone who works a blend of remote and in-office work and lives within a commutable distance from NCCI’s headquarters.

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

At NCCI, we believe our employees are our greatest asset, and we believe our strength lies in our differences. We come from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, so our commitment to inclusion is what brings us together to work as one.

  • We respect each other and value our differences.
  • We can be authentic and feel like we belong.
  • We promote equity in our organization and our community, providing opportunities for every employee to fully contribute.

Serving our community is centered around advancing educational opportunities for all of those who are underserved and building for our industry a long-term recruiting pipeline. We partner with organizations dedicated to this cause as we work to enhance access to valuable educational resources in our community. Three focus areas have been identified for achieving these objectives and furthering our priority of demonstrating social responsibility. They are:

  • Increasing Education Equity
  • Supporting STEM Programs for Underserved Groups
  • Enhancing our recruiting efforts by expanding our relationships and internship opportunities with colleges and universities, including Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Bethune-Cookman University (BCU), Florida State University (FSU), and many more.
Here is a snapshot of what we have been able to accomplish thus far.

NCCI has developed strong industry partnerships with organizations that align with its I&D efforts, like the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA), the American Society of Workers’ Compensation Professionals (AMCOMP), The Institutes Knowledge Group (CPCU Designation), and more. This is one of the most important and impactful ways we’re furthering and strengthening our I&D mission.

Learn more: I&D With Our Industry

Formed to foster an environment of acceptance and inclusion across NCCI, Together As One (TAO) is NCCI’s Employee Resource Group. The group is open to all and has already involved over 100 employees in its mission. TAO recognizes and honors the varied experiences and backgrounds of NCCI’s employees, focuses on supporting NCCI’s I&D initiative, provides networking opportunities for members, highlights important cultural events and milestones, and offers professional development and learning opportunities.
