Our Workers Compensation Operations​ Team

NCCIˈs Workers Compensation Operations (WC Ops) Team works collaboratively on an enterprise-wide basis to create, maintain, and deliver NCCI's workers compensation infrastructure of manual rules, classifications, and forms on behalf of the industry.

Departments within this team include:

Atlas

 

Develops and maintains NCCI Atlas, a comprehensive, topic-based content delivery system that provides rules, classifications, and other key workers compensation information found in NCCI Manuals and Circulars.

Content Operations

Edits and publishes NCCI's workers compensation insurance manuals, circulars, and online content and supports all NCCI events. Manages the corporate Records Retention and Destruction process that includes the creation, storage, retrieval, and disposition of records.

 

Inspections and Test Audit

 

Ensures the proper and consistent application of the workers compensation classification system by periodically conducting a physical inspection of a policyholder’s operations to determine whether the classification codes identified on the policyholder’s insurance policy reflect the policyholder’s current business operations. Validates the accuracy and reliability of an insurer's audits as required within a jurisdiction.

Research, Filings and Disputes

Prepares research, analysis, and item filings for the workers compensation insurance infrastructure system of manual rules, classifications, and underwriting forms. Serves as the primary technical resource for NCCI’s Dispute Resolution Process, which provides policyholders with a means to resolve disputes regarding the application of NCCI manual rules to NCCI's policy.
