NCCI Data Educational Program to Go Virtual
Formerly known as the
Data Educational Program (DEP), NCCI’s
Data Now Program (DNP) will be a virtual event
February 2–4, 2021. Keeping the safety of our employees and event attendees our top priority, we look forward to transforming this long-standing in-person event into an amazing virtual experience.

Data Communications
During the first half of 2020, NCCI released several key communications on
ncci.com. Here are some highlights:
Data Reporting—NAIC Data Call Related to Terrorism Risk Insurance Coverage (FYI-DR-2020-01)—The NAIC Data Call requests that data for Policy Year 2017 be submitted by March 1, 2020. NCCI coordinated this effort and served as a pass-through of the data for all NCCI states and independent state rating bureaus, except California and New York.
Indemnity Data Call—Key Field Change Record Edits (IND-2020-01)—Released the Indemnity Data Call Edit Matrix—Future Enhancements Matrix for the new optional process to make Key Field Changes to previously reported Indemnity Data Call records.
New York—Proof of Coverage Update (FYI-POC-NY-2020-01)—Announced the implementation of edits for New York Address Records. If the Industry Code is missing or invalid, NCCI will provide Edits 0234-02 for a Data Grade 7—Critical POC Error (or Data Grade 9—Reject on Transaction 16—POC Notice/Binders) on the Policy Submission Results Reports.
Data Reporting—2020 Provision for Workers Compensation Terrorism—Federal Insurance Office (FIO) Section 111 of TRIPRA of 2015 (FYI-DR-2020-02)—The United States Department of the Treasury’s FIO implemented its data collection provisions for 2020. The provisions of this Call require carriers to report terrorism insurance data in accordance with Section 111. FIO has coordinated with NCCI, independent bureaus, and monopolistic fund states to provide the workers compensation portion of the Call.
Data Reporting—Terrorism or Catastrophe Premium Reporting Requirements (FYI-DR-2020-03)— Emphasized premium reporting requirements for catastrophe provisions for Terrorism and Catastrophe (other than Certified Acts of Terrorism).
Policy—New Policy Edits (POLS-2020-01)—Announced the future implementation of nine new Policy data edits. All new edits will begin to invoke on New, Renewal, and Subsequent transactions on policies effective January 1, 2021, and later.
POC—Proof of Coverage Update—Number of Employees (FYI-POC-2020-01)—Provided state requirements for the Number of Employee data element on the primary mailing address.
Medical Data Call—Final Reporting of Massachusetts Transaction to NCCI (FYI-MED-2020-04)— Announced the final reporting of Massachusetts medical transaction to NCCI.
