Since
Class Look-Up is a look-up service, keyword searches need to be rather accurate. When entering keywords, try using the
singular form or even just
a part of the word. This can significantly enhance your search results, making it easier to find exactly what you need.
Here are some examples.
Scenario: You want to see more information about retailers of plumbing supplies.
In the Search By drop-down list, you select
Phraseology and Scopes. Then you enter “plumbing” into the search bar.
This gets you results with the exact word “plumbing” pulled from anywhere in the
Phraseology,
Note, or
Scopes Description.
But your results only seem to be related to manufacturing or installation codes. What can you do?
Solution: Improve your results by reducing your keyword to “plumb.”
Now your results will include not only “plumbing” but also “plumber” or “plumbers” or even "plumber's".
Code 8111—Plumbers' Supplies Dealer & Drivers is quickly viewable.
More suggestions:
- Key in “photo”: Your results will include “photoengraving,” “photo print,” “photographer,” etc.
- Key in “insulat”: Your results will include “insulation,” “insulated,” “insulating,” etc.
- Key in “living”: Your results will include “assisted living,” “living room sets,” “living quarters,” etc.
- Key in “house”: Your results will include “warehouse,” “packing house,” “greenhouse,” etc.
Simplicity is key!
