NCCI performs test audits in several states. A test audit is an examination, of the carrier audit. The test auditor reviews the original records of the insured, compares those results to the carrier’s results, identifies and explains any differences, and reports the results back to the carrier.
The purpose of the test audit program is to:
- Check the accuracy and reliability of each carriers’ audits to verify the classifications assigned
- Ensure that premiums were developed using proper rates, procedures, and manual rules
- Improve audit proficiency through the evaluation of insurer auditing practices
- Confirm that proper payroll and claim information are reported to NCCI on the unit statistical report
The Test Audit Process Automated System is a tool that allows you to submit files that have been selected for test audit, track file submissions, and retrieve quarterly reports for your company in states where NCCI performs test audits.
