POC Timeliness Reporting Requirements |
Transaction Received Date | NCCI’s received date is used to determine timeliness on POC transactions accepted by the state. |
Policies | Due within 30 days after the Policy Effective Date. POC Notices may be submitted if the policy will not be issued within 30 days after the Policy Effective Date. If a POC Notice is reported, the full policy must be submitted within 60 days of the Policy Effective Date. |
Cancellations | Due 30 days prior to the Cancellation Effective Date. |
Reinstatements | Statute does not mandate time frame. NCCI requires Reinstatements to be submitted within 30 days after the Reinstatement Effective Date. |
Nonrenewals | Mississippi is a continuous coverage state. Nonrenewals are required and must be reported 30 days prior to effective date of nonrenewal cancellation, or unless insured secures other coverage. Effective 7/1/2018: Nonrenewals are not required if a replacement policy is issued by the same insurer or when an insurer is transferred to an insurer within the same group, so long as the replacement or transfer results in the same or substantially similar coverage. |
