Proof of Coverage Inquiry

POC Timeliness Reporting Requirements |
Transaction Received Date | NCCI’s received date is used to determine timeliness on POC transactions accepted by the state. |
Policies | Due to the DWC within 30 days after the Policy Effective Date. POC Notices may be submitted. This does not eliminate the need to submit the policy within 30 days after the Policy Effective Date. |
Cancellations | Cancellations are due to the DWC 30 days prior to the Cancellation Effective Date unless cancelled due to nonpayment of premium, which is due 10 days prior to the Cancellation Effective Date. |
Reinstatements | Due to the DWC within 30 days after the Reinstatement Effective Date. |
Nonrenewals | Florida is a continuous coverage state. Nonrenewals are required and must be reported 30 days prior to the effective date of the nonrenewal cancellation. |
POC Data Reporting Requirements |
Data Elements: -
Industry Code—A valid North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code (2002, 2007, 2012, 2017, or 2022 codes) must be reported

Number of Employees—Must be reported on Address Type Codes 1, 2, and 6
- Refer to the POC Data Element Requirements Chart located in NCCI’s
Policy and Proof of Coverage (POC) Reporting Guidebook for all requirements
Address Reporting—No Physical Location: - When there is no physical location in the state, Florida will accept Employer Names linked to:
- Address Type 6—No Physical Location
- Florida does not accept Employer Names linked to an Address Type 2—Location of Operations with an Out-of-State Address reported with State Code Link 09
State Processing Exceptions: - If the policy is reported as a Non-Employee Leasing Policy, then the Insured FEIN must NOT be on the list of valid Florida Employee Leasing Companies with the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation
- If the policy is reported as an Employee Leasing Policy, then the Insured FEIN MUST be on the list of valid Florida Employee Leasing Companies with the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation
- Employee Leasing Policy Type Code 8 is not statutorily valid
- An Employer Effective Date cannot be changed to a future date once established on a policy
