Changes to NCCI’s manuals, starting with the Basic Manual and Residual Market Manual, are underway and will evolve over time. We want you to be prepared for the transition.
State Approval of Filings
NCCI needs each state to approve the content transformation filings in order to enhance the functionality of viewing manual content by state and multistate. We are breaking the content down by state before putting this information back together in a variety of ways. However, until all NCCI states have approved the filings, our customers may be working from two versions of the manuals based on the effective date of the policy.
Interim Solution Training Coming Soon
We will be offering several training modules on Atlas Content Transformation available through the NCCI’s Atlas Initiative page and in our Learning Center on ncci.com. As we continue on our journey with additional manuals, new modules will be added.
Multistate Basic Manual
As you may have heard, we are managing this project using agile methodologies. During this transition, we are working on producing a point-in-time multistate Basic Manual PDF, based on feedback from NCCI carriers who write workers compensation policies in more than one state. Ultimately, this manual view will be more easily available in our new content delivery system, and this interim solution provides a glimpse into what it will look like in the future. Our FAQs provide details and will be updated with more to come on this effort.
Content Delivery System
NCCI is targeting the end of summer 2022 to release the new delivery system that will contain our latest transformed manual content. You will be able to access both PDF and HTML manual content with the ability to view by topic, state, multistate, market type, and manual title. Our goal is to have all NCCI states approve the Basic Manual and Residual Market Manual with an effective date of November 1, 2021, and retire our Basic Manual 2001 edition and any other transformed manuals to our previous editions library.
